Managing Grievance Process

This course will focus on managing a grievance process and will include:

The Acas Code on disciplinary and grievance procedures: how to use it
Resolving issues informally and when formal action is necessary
Setting of clear rules and how to communicate them
The importance of record keeping
Holding a grievance meeting – and how to conduct it
Deciding when an internal investigation is necessary and what it should consist of
Taking appropriate action and the proper use of penalties and sanctions
Dealing with appeals
Who should attend?
Voluntary & Community Sector Trustees, directors, managers, team leaders, supervisors or anyone who feels uncomfortable dealing with and managing difficult conversations or putting across tough messages.

This workshop will be run by Shirley Briggs

Shirley manages the PEACe service for LVSC and has been working for PEACe since 2006, supporting many hundreds of voluntary and community organisations in that time. Before joining PEACe Shirley worked for many years as a HR Manager in the social housing sector and latterly worked independently before joining PEACe. She is a qualified counsellor with a small private practice and has also trained as a workplace mediator.

This workshop is for voluntary & community organisations based in London only. 1 place allocated per organisation as these events are in high demand!
PLEASE NOTE: In the event of a no-show without 24 hours notice of cancellation, LVSC reserves the right to charge a fee of £50 per person. This is to ensure our administrative, catering and booking costs are covered.
